I tend to photograph more babies and families than anything else. Jamie and Makeda's wedding was my first wedding in a long time and my first in a string of three. I had a great time capturing their big day!! It definitely made me want to photograph more weddings! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your wonderful wedding day! -Angie

What a fun session!! I am typically a very posed photographer but I love the look of candid shots. I also love capturing the vision that a client has for a session and running with it. This mama has four young kiddos and felt like it would be easier to do a more candid shoot and have fun. She wanted lots of her mom playing with her grandkids so that was the vision. I hope I captured it well for her and her family. Wonderful memories captured!!
I love working with newborns! It is wonderful to capture their newness...they are only that little for such a short time! The newborn photography session usually lasts about 2 hours and includes about 4 to 5 different backdrops/setups. In those set ups, I tend to get lots of poses and angles which producing an outcome of about 30-40 edited images. My studio is set up and chock full of props! Would love to capture your newborn's special moments in photographs for you!
Yesterday, I started prepping for the big move by organizing and purchasing items. My goal is to have a functional, uncluttered, and comfortable studio space for my clients. I will comment on the different organizational tools that I used. Before we start, it is a bit smaller space than I had hoped and I will update later on how that affects my shooting. Let's start in the bathroom! The changing table is essential for a child/infant/newborn friendly environment. I put an anti-skid mat under the pad and it is on top of a storage unit. In hanging my tutus, I made sure that baby would not be able to reach them :) I had most of my rompers and tutus all squished into drawers and couldn't see what I had available. Now they are visible to myself and clients. I used those expandable hanging racks and hangers with clips. This wall piece actually adds a bit of cool decor to the room. Photographers tend to have a lot of stuff...cool stuff but stuff that can become cluttered easily. Top left photo, I found this cool planter and put two baskets I had on hand inside of it. The baskets have my diaper covers on bottom and ties etc. on top. Middle top showcases a cool bookshelf that looks good but holds a lot of miscellaneous items. The top basket has my banners, I folded them and clothespinned them together. The black basket holds my "sets" of hats, covers, caps...anything sets that go together. I actually clothespinned those together as well so hopefully all matching pieces stay together. The rack in the top right corner came from Walmart on clearance. It is a towel rack or clothes rack. I tied my wraps on the different tiers. Bottom left is a lovely picture of the storage closet. Some portions of this closet isn't pictured but holds baskets, bowls, etc. My blankets are hanging to easy viewing and my beanbag is stored in between newborn sessions. The last picture on the bottom right shows headband/hat holders made from crown molding and hot glued clothespins. The headband holder has closer glued clothes pins :) Shoot room!! I scored this holder which has 9 holes with each hole holding 2 backdrops. I had been looking and looking and finally found this! My ceramic container will hold other backdrops. More hats!! This time a curtain rod with shower curtain clippies. More baskets!! Newborn essentials...heating pad, paper towels, water proof pads, wipes, roll up stuffer towels and a few basket stuffers thrown in there. Another I can't live without newborn hack....my ocean, rainforest, thunderstorm playing alram clock! Awww how peaceful which makes for a sleepy baby! I have a light out and I may use one or two. However, I am typically a natural light photographer. I am looking forward to shooting during the day to see if I need to supplement with lighting. Thanks for taking the time to tour my studio! I am definitely living my dream of a beautiful place to create and do what I love! Looking forward to many many sessions here! 6549 Main St. Gloucester, VA
Maymont Park in Richmond was the perfect backdrop for a maternity session. This beautiful couple is expecting twins soon and wanted to capture this pregnancy. Family members are always welcome in maternity and newborn sessions. As a photographer, my favorite sessions to photograph are maternity and newborn. I love to capture these special moments in families' lives. Newborn and Maternity Photographer serving Gloucester, Mathews, Middlesex and surrounding counties. This beautiful mother had an idea of what she wanted for her maternity session and I was able to help make that a reality. Any thoughts or ideas you have please share with me. I have a maternity gown on order and some wonderful headbands/pieces as well. Even during the newborn session, I welcome your ideas.
Pumpkin Patch mini sessions are one of my favorite type of sessions. This sweet family made it even that much more fun! I loved all the ideas and outfits mom had planned and I was able to incorporate some maternity photos as well. The sunflowers, pumpkins, fall colors, and natural haze just made for some awesome photos. It was great to meet you Lee family! What a way to end a wonderful day of Pumpkin Patch mini sessions.
Shoot for Five Photography is now offering Birth Photography! I would love to capture your labor, your baby's first breath, and all the events that occur right after birth. Located in Gloucester but will travel to Williamsburg, Newport News, and Hampton. Photographer will arrive as labor progresses and stay through an hour or so after birth. My goal is to capture those special moments but to do so in a way that is not at all intrusive. A video or slideshow of the birth photos can be included in the package.
What a privilege it is to be a part of such a special occasion as someone's wedding! Congratulations Chelsea and David! Photographing weddings is so exciting from everyone dressing up, to the ceremony, and bridal party shots. Then when the reception hits, lots of fun photos from the first dances, the cake cutting/smashing, and ending with the couples exit. This wedding took place right on the water at the Suffolk Planter's Club, beautiful location. Thanks again Chelsea and David for choosing me to take your wedding photos. Congratulations and Much happiness to come! Sweet 7day old baby boy!! I enjoyed meeting your mom and dad during their maternity session. Loved meeting you as well!
